Fun for boys

I'm sure girls would like this too, but my grandsons really like playing with this. It's a good toy for boys especially. It's like an equivalent to a simple "paper doll" that girls used to play with. The boys "build" the characters by adding the magnetic clothing parts to the frame of the boy. They can turn him into a pirate, a firefighter and more. And there is a "stand" so the boy can stand up too. Very cute for probably 3-5 year olds.

Our local library has this same thing so I got it for my son for Christmas. He loves it! My only complaint is that the case does not have any kind of cover. So storing it has been a nightmare. Considering getting a plastic storage container from Walmart to put it in instead of the nice wooden tray because the pieces end up all over the place due to the lack of a cover. Other than that it is great. Good quality, magnets work!

I absolutely love the dress-up magnetic set "Joey" from Melissa & Doug. I keep purchasing their products because of their durability and quality materials. The colors are always vibrant as well. Most importantly, the recipient LOVES Fireman Joey! I highly recommend this product even though the box provides no storage lid. I just slid the segmented box into a gallon zip bag.

Great idea

My toddler LOVES it. Plays with it EVEYDAY! It was a score. Only criticism about the product---someone else mentioned it and it sounded so insignificant before I bought it, but ended up be a big deal to a 2 year old-- is the shoe/sock combo doesn't go with most of the outfits and it creates frustration. Weird, but others have said the same. I guess I am really mentioning this for the manufacturers. She works around it, but everyday she has some issue with it😀

2018 Version of Old Fashioned Paper Dolls

I bought the Joey and Melissa Wooden Dress up dolls for our 4 and 1/2 old grandchildren, boy and girl. They had ignored some really adorable puzzle dress up dolls. To my surprise they both loved their dolls and spent meaningful time dressing them up. I think the stand up doll, right at their eye level, and the magnets helped make them interactive. The box and pieces were well crafted but I wish they had come with a lid. Not a major defect. Thank you, Doug and Melissa!

Definitely Recommend!

I bought this for my daughter 7 years ago. Yup! I bought it 7 years ago, it still looks great, and we still use it. My oldest daughter (10 years) isn't interested in it anymore, but I have a 5 year old who brings it out. I also keep it in my home studio for when kids come over. Even older children like it (probably because it's new to them). They love changing the dolls outfits. The quality is great (as with most anything Melissa & Doug makes). My only suggestion is encourage play away from other little toys (we've lost a couple of the shoes over the years), and don't give it to a child who puts things in their mouth. The storage box is great, fits everything nicely and can stack nicely among puzzles and the like. I definitely recommend.

My boys love these.

My 3 year old twins use these all time. It keeps them occupied long enough for me to sit down and drink a cup of coffee at least. They do love dressing them up in the different outfits and honestly it gets them to use their imaginations. It reminds me of the paper dolls I used to play with as a kid except way better.

Fun and magnets connect very well.

Love it the best gift for my sons fireman birthday theme. Both my kids play with it and love it. I will say there are small pieces that can get lost quite easily and I had to search high and low a few times for some of the pieces but it’s great for both boys and girls. I will say on a negative note on the outsdie where the picture is on the pieces the paper is a bit peeling but not terrible maybe put a thin coat of clear coat so it won’t do that for you.
